Verity Birt

VERITY BIRT is a funded, practice-based PhD researcher at Northumbria University and the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art (BxNU Institute) in Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK. This year, she was awarded the Christine Downing Fellowship at the Opus Archives and Research Centre at the Pacifica Institute in California to study the archives of archaeologist Marija Gimbutas. She has an MA from the Royal College of Art, London (2015) and BA from Goldsmiths University of London (2011). Verity has been awarded grants from Arts Council England, Creative Scotland, Northern Film and Media and The European Union.
